The Executive Committee is the 13-member governing body for the South Central Kansas Library System. Kristin Sen is the Chair of the Derby Public Library and is a nominee for a second four-year term in the At-Large Position on the Executive Committee.
Gail Niles Stucky is Co-Director of the Bethel College Library, North Newton and is nominee for a second four-year term in the At-Large Position II. Stucky is also currently vice-chair of the SCKLS Executive Committee.
Gail Becker is Supervisor of Library Media & Textbook Services, USD 259 Wichita Public Schools and is a nominee for a first four-year term in the Public School District Libraries position.
Kerri Steffen is the Director of the Cunningham Public Library and has expressed her willingness to be nominated for the Gateway Public Library position. Jane Lee, Chair of the Partridge Public Library had decided not to seek at second four-year term.
Eldon Younce is the Director of the Anthony Public Library and is a nominee for a second four year term in the Service Center I Public Library position.
Susan Woodard is Director of the Cheney Public Library and a nominee for a second term. Woodard is also currently the Treasurer of the SCKLS Executive Committee.
Additional and write-in nominations will be accepted prior to voting at the upcoming Semi-annual Meeting. Nominees should be willing to serve a four-year term of office that begins in January 2018 and ends in December 2021. The Executive Committee meets on the third Friday of each month at 9:30 a.m. at various locations throughout the twelve county SCKLS service area. SCKLS provides mileage reimbursement for attendance at monthly executive committee meetings. As provided for in Kansas Statutes Annotated (KSA) 75-2550a and SCKLS Bylaws, the Executive Committee has the authority to “set policy, hire a System Director and conduct system business on a month to month basis between meetings of the system board.”
