Programming Grant
The South Central Kansas Library System Programming Grant started in June of 2007 in an effort to assist the SCKLS membership with enhanced or innovative library programs. This grant is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to member public, school, academic, and special libraries. Libraries and/or school districts who receive a Programming Grant may apply only once each year.
Overview
The program provides $7,500 in grant funds with a maximum award of $200 per awarded application.
Funded activities should occur between January 1 and December 31 of the granting year. Applicants should plan to provide programs that will address needs within their own communities such as:
- Book discussions
- Infant and toddler programs
- Youth and young adult programs
- Outreach programming to underserved groups

- Adult and senior programs
- Partnerships with community agencies and schools
- Literacy or diversity programs

Grant funds may be used for, but are not limited to:
- Books to be kept by the library or given to participants
- Supplies
- Printing / postage
- Food
- Incentives / gifts / prizes
- Entertainment
