KAN-ED Membership Record Update Information (For existing KAN-ED
Members)
This message is for those of you who are already KAN-ED Members. You
should have received a notification to update your KAN-ED Membership
record by clicking on a link that was sent to you from KAN-ED.
PLEASE NOTE: The notification I am referring to was generated
by KAN-ED,
NOT SCKLS, so we will be unable to point you to where you need to go.
If
you have deleted or misplaced that notification please contact KAN-ED
directly for further assistance.

Below is the list of questions that are in the membership record update.
I have included some sample answers for your reference. NOTE: If you are
a COX Project KIDS Library these sample answers will pertain to your
record update as this is actual COX Project KIDS information.
The message from KAN-ED Looks like this...
If you are not the KAN-ED contact for your institution, please complete
the following two tasks:
1) forward this message to the appropriate person within your institution
so s/he can complete the Membership Record Update survey
2) reply to this e-mail address with the name and e-mail address of
the
KAN-ED contact at your institution (i.e.: The person to whom you forwarded
this e-mail.)
If you are not a KAN-ED member and received this message in error please
reply to this e-mail address so we can remove you from the mailing list.
**Directions for completing the KAN-ED Membership Record Update online
survey. Prior to accessing the Membership Record Update on-line survey
you
may want to collaborate with other persons from your institution to allow
you to gather the following information:

1. Name, phone number and e-mail address of the KAN-ED contact for your
institution
Add here your name, phone and e-mail address
2. Name of your institutions Internet Service Provider (ISP) and e-mail
address

3. Name of the person at the ISP who your institution contacts for
administrative aspects of service
Sara Kaufman - COX Communications Events and Education Coordinator
4. Name of the person at the ISP who your institution contacts for
technology aspects of service
Cox Business Technical Support: 1-800-620-6196
5. Name, phone number and e-mail address of the person at your institution
who serves as the technology contact to KAN-ED (ex: Director of
Technology, Network Engineer, etc.) [This is not the same person as the
technology contact at your ISP]
Put the contact info of your technology person here. This might
be you if
you are the only person in your library. Do not put SCKLS staff here,
but
a member of your staff. If you have issues later on you are able to
contact SCKLS Tech support directly.
6. Name, phone number and e-mail address of the person at your institution
KAN-ED should contact to obtain information about the services and
products pertinent to your institution (ex: Director of Education,
Director of Services, etc.)
Put the contact info of your Administrative Contact here (Director).
7. Services and products your institution would like KAN-ED to offer
In this spot enter any service or product you would like KAN-ED
to offer&
i.e. more databases, genealogy resources, video conferencing, etc. Be
specific if possible.
8. Aggregate purchasing areas your institution would utilize
i.e. Databases, technology items, etc.
9. Has your institution collaborated online with K-12, Higher Education,
Hospital or other library constituent groups either locally or across
the
state if your institution applied for e-rate funds (if so, were they
received)
Yes or No Basically they want to know if you have done any type
of
online collaboration with other institutions via some type of interactive
information transfer such as ITV, video streaming, etc.
