Digitization Services
SCKLS services include project planning, website hosting and training for qualifying digitization projects.
Libraries are often the custodians of unique local history or other information; these collections, even if they are very small, may be good candidates for a digitization project.
Almost anything can be digitized! Some examples are:
- Diaries and letters
- Photographs
- Postcards and ephemera
- Maps
- Audio and video
- Objects and artifacts
(Newspaper digitization is not included in the scope of this project. Please contact us for additional information.)
Digitization can:
- Protect the originals from damage by handling
- Make the information easily and safely accessible by community members
- Share your community's history with the world through internet access
