Digitization Services

SCKLS services include project planning, website hosting and training for qualifying digitization projects.

Libraries are often the custodians of unique local history or other information; these collections, even if they are very small, may be good candidates for a digitization project.

Almost anything can be digitized!  Some examples are:

  • Diaries and letters
  • Photographs
  • Postcards and ephemera
  • Maps
  • Audio and video
  • Objects and artifacts

(Newspaper digitization is not included in the scope of this project.  Please contact us for additional information.)

Digitization can:

  • Protect the originals from damage by handling
  •  Make the information easily and safely accessible by community members
  • Share your community's history with the world through internet access
