Since 2006, the South Central Kansas Library System Summer Library Grant has provided funding to public libraries participating in the Summer Library Program that have completed the necessary requirements. The one hundred and fifty dollar grant provides additional funding for incentives, programs, or other materials to enhance the public library’s Summer Library Program.
Overview
Public libraries participating in the Summer Library Program that complete the Summer Library Program Evaluation Form (the data form), complete the SCKLS Summer Library Program Materials Form (reading logs, bookmarks, etc.) for the upcoming year, AND update their SCKLS System Directory information are eligible for the Summer Library Grant. Although there is not a grant application to fill out, public libraries are responsible to complete the three components required for grant eligibility during the eligibility time frames. Grant funds are disbursed in late November. Information about the Summer Library Program, Summer Library Grant, and time frame requirements are supplied through the SCKLS-PUB Listserv and are available on the SCKLS web site.
